The Kerala Central Schools Sports Meet (KCSSM) is a prestigious annual event, initiated by the Kerala State Sports Council, guided by the Ministry of Sports, Government of Kerala and organised by Council of CBSE Schools Kerala (CCSK), a registered body representing CBSE-affiliated schools under the Trivandrum region. It serves as a vibrant platform to celebrate the athletic talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship of students from Central Syllabus Schools across Kerala, including Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV), CBSE, and ICSE schools.
At KCSSM, we believe in uniting students through sports, fostering healthy competition, and inspiring them to achieve their fullest potential—both on and off the field.
Since its establishment in 2018, KCSSM has been dedicated to fostering physical fitness, inclusivity, and the spirit of fair play among young athletes. By bringing together schools and District Sports Councils, the meet ensures maximum participation, offering students from every corner of Kerala an opportunity to showcase their athletic potential on a grand stage.
The inaugural KCSSM was launched by Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, at the Chandrashekhar Nair Stadium, Trivandrum, marking the beginning of this prestigious event.
The next meet took place at LNCPE, Kariyavattom, Trivandrum, and was graced by Shri V. Abdul Rahiman, the Hon’ble Minister of Sports, Government of Kerala, who inaugurated the event.
The following year, the meet was hosted at the University Stadium, Kozhikode, with Shri V. Abdul Rahiman presiding over the inauguration.
Under the continued patronage of Shri V. Abdul Rahiman, the KCSSM remains steadfast in its mission to cultivate the sporting talents and aspirations of Kerala’s youth.
The success of KCSSM is further amplified by the partnership with the Council of CBSE Schools Kerala (CCSK), a registered body representing CBSE-affiliated schools under the Trivandrum region. CCSK plays a pivotal role in promoting sports and physical education, emphasizing the importance of holistic development through healthy competition and teamwork.
